Smart: Coming to a City Near You

Smart cities are being rolled out all over the globe. Are we entering an age of technological marvel or something more sinister?

Bill of Wrongs

“But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain – that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it.”
~Lysander Spooner

The Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution as a guarantee of personal freedoms and individual rights but the precepts that were intended to limit government have consistently eroded over time. Has this foundational document completely lost its meaning? Bill of Wrongs explores that question through an examination of the present-day application of each amendment.

Propaganda

“Propaganda does not aim to elevate man, but to make him serve.”
~Jacques Ellul

To Serve and Protect

“When you have police officers who abuse citizens, you erode public confidence in law enforcement. That makes the job of good police officers unsafe.
~Mary Frances Berry

Over time, the role of the police officer has shifted from serving and protecting to enforcement of law, making forces subservient to the government rather than accountable to the people. To Serve and Protect analyzes modern policing in an attempt to determine whether modern law enforcement agencies live up to that standard and explore ideas for moving forward.

Our Mission

“Most people aren’t even aware of this.” Such was the beginning of The Gray Matter Project–an initiative that seeks to shed light on important issues that are underserved in the public dialogue. The goal of this project is to provide thoughtful interviews, compelling discussions, and valuable information that serves as a jumping-off point for public engagement.
